Biohacking is the personal experimentation and refinement of your individual biology to improve, and ultimately optimize, everything you do. Biohackers look at upgrading a whole spectrum of performance metrics and biomarkers, from sleep, fitness, and diet, to productivity, brain performance, sense of meaning and more. At the same time, they try to identify the things that drain their energy and then eliminate them.
The term 'biohacking' itself was popularized by Dave Asprey, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and artificial intelligence expert who used a computer systems hacking approach to methodically problem solve his own health issues. In addition to popularizing 'Bulletproof Coffee', he started the Human Potenial Institute, one of the world's leading coach training programs accredited by the International Coach Federation. He is also a regular speaker at Tony Robbins' seminars.
Biohacking has been embraced by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, elite military units like the US Navy SEALs and Rangers, high performance athletes, and high level executives who are looking to continually refine and improve their physical and mental performance, but it is really meant for everyone. In the end, no one has more datapoints on your biology than you - so why not use that instant feedback system to become the best version of yourself that you can be?
